diameter: 18 cm; height: 7 cm
austere beauty of form imbued with quiteness
Whereas the celadons of the earlier Koryo period are known for their purity and refinement it is the celadons of the following Joseon (Yi) period that have garnered appreciation for their more natural simple forms and glazes. Often seen as coarse but containing a hidden vitality.
This bowl is a good example being rustic at first appearance and when handling and seeing the depth of colour one feels it is no ordinary bowl.
