The dish with a foliated rim has an incised scallop pattern typical of the decorated Phan wares.
Phan celadons are considered the finest of all the Thai celadon ceramics and possibly the earliest before the Sawankhalok kilns of Sukhothai. The clay is finely grained allowing finely potted forms to be evenly glazed
